Mid-Season Feedback and Thoughts
Doesn’t time fly by when you’re having fun? We’re already six episodes into the season (3 x Doctor DILF and 3 x Extra Length), which means there’s only one more Extra Length to go and from next week, a great two-part season finale.
This first season has given me time to see what works and what doesn’t. As I said at the beginning, Doctor DILF is designed to evolve.
For instance, the feedback to Doctor DILF has been overwhelming. Seriously, you guys, thank you so much! Not only are people telling me they listen (online and in person), but in detail. They tell me…

They tell me where they listen, what they’re doing whilst listening (steady on now), and go into detail about the content of the show. Doctor DILF is really resonating, and this means the world to me because a lot of thought has gone into the content and the way that content is delivered.
That shows in the listening figures. I half-expected my professional passion to be enjoyed by a handful of people. Just the opposite - the listening figures are very healthy indeed. As someone on the weekend told me, that’s because there’s nothing else out there for us older gay and bisexual men.
There has been some great constructive criticism too, for which I am very grateful, especially from podcast experts further down the broadcasting road than me. Thank you, guys, you really do help. For example, more than one person has said the title of “Extra Length” implies that cut bits have been put back in, rather than the Carry On - esque double entendre I was imagining. Also, the need to link the two halves more, providing a lead-in. This is a healthy sign of show evolution and something for me to consider for next series.
Speaking of the next series, prospective guests are already coming forward, eager to talk about their own expertise. Trust me. Doctor DILF: Series Two will be bloody brilliant. I am already excited for it and not a solitary second has been recorded yet. Watch this space!
In the meantime, please keep those comments coming, and if you enjoyed the podcast, please leave a review on the podcast platform you use. I would very much appreciate it. The more reviews, the more likes, and the more shares Doctor DILF gets, the more stable its future will look. Also, keep an eye out for market research at the end of the series.
Until next time, look after each other, and just keep talking.
Ciao!
Simon x
